The angel wept the summer slept
Her eyes streamed tears of moonlight falling on the bed
Maybe these cold hard chains are the price you pay for wings
Or just for breathing
And though the pain has washed away everything that you believed
The truth is that you are free
When there are dogs out in the fog
Howling their mourning songs at their ferocious gods
Then the fingers brush away the pain you saved
Everything is okay
And though the pain has washed away everything that you believed
Remember that you have me
The rags that you wear are your wings
Everyone's afraid

For me this is a wonderful break up album. It’s not all sullen because these things in life are always emotionally mixed and the album reflects the mood swings all done without clobbering you over the head or overly forcing the subjects to fit specific places in the listeners consciousness Tommy Dog
